Aidan is eleven months old already! Hard to figure out where the past year has gone! In the past few months we've taking him out to learn about the world around him. We went with the Locke family to tour the Shatto Dairy Farm. Tasted some delicious milk and looked at some stinky cows. I took a picture of "Pat", a fourteen year old dairy cow and Aidan laughs at it every time I show it to him. I wonder what he thinks it is!! We also took the kids to Deanna Rose Children's Farm to check out the animals there. Aidan got to see several different animals...chickens, cows, peacocks, bobcats, goats, pigs, ducks, etc. He seemed pretty interested in all of the animals except for one aggressive goat that really wanted to get at the food we had. It's crazy noise made Aidan cry! =( He did get to pet a Pygmy goat...I kind of think he thought that it was just a really messed up looking version of Sadie.
Riding Bikes
Aidan went for his first bike ride yesterday. He loved it. We bought a seat for the back of the tandem. We took it for a short test drive last night through the neighborhood. He was just looking around and smiling. The helmet seems to be a little bit big...but I have some extra pads to put in it and get it just right. I didn't take any pictures...but did get a little bit of video. I will take a picture next time and get it posted soon.
9 Months Old
Aidan is 9 months old now. We had his check up last week. He weighs 22.8 lbs and is 29 3/4" tall. Still in the 90th percent for height but has dropped to the 70th percent for weight. He's a lot more active then he was a few months ago. Here is a picture of him watching the guys build our new deck....taken on July 8th!
Catching up!
On another note...thought I should catch up. Aidan is almost 9 months old. In the past two months...I've put on a bike-a-thon to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital and bought a Ford Explorer. Aidan has had many first. We took a baby sign language class in June and he signed 'dog' for the first time yesterday at the vet's office. We took him to a Japanese Steakhouse...I think he liked the fire.
He can crawl, sit up and pull up on EVERYTHING!! Here are a few pictures of Aidan over the past two months.
Happy 4th of July
Hope everyone has a great 4th!! We went to a parade this morning and are suppose to go watch some fireworks this evening. Hopefully Aidan will LOVE them.
Nothing but TROUBLE!!
Aidan is ALMOST 8 months old!! Where did all the time go? He is a wild man, constantly on the move! I think that this is the most physically demanding job I have ever had! He has been crawling for a while now...and sitting up on his own. He has two teeth, both on the bottom. Yesterday he pulled himself up to stand. I almost had a heart attack. I took my eyes off of him for a minute to watch something on tv and when I looked over at him he was standing up. I jumped up so fast. He looked so cute with his little legs all bowed out!! He did it to me again today when I was on the phone with my sister. It won't be long before he starts walking. And then I really will be on the move. Here is a picture of him crawling and one of his little teethers!!
The Great Outdoors
I took Aidan outdoors yesterday. He's been out several times for walks in the stroller...but he's never been able to get down in the grass. It was so sunny and beautiful. When I held him down and let the grass touch his toes he just kicked his feet back and forth. I'm not sure what he thinks about it. We didn't stay out to long...I was afraid I would burn!!! It's that time of year to buy some sunscreen. Aidan had his 6 month check up and his shots yesterday too. He weights 20 lbs and 13 oz and is 28" tall. He's in the 95% percentile on both. Doctor thinks he's going to be a tall boy!
